Wow wow wow, what a time to be alive! Is it just me or does this all feel like a dream or a movie or something?
Just wow! Exhales… I really didn’t see this coming.
However as I lay in bed reflecting, it truly humbles me because there’s a lot that we don’t see coming in life. Many are saying that this is a call to REPENTANCE- but what does that even mean?
In the New Testament, the word metanoia is often translated as “repentance”. But this kind of repentance is not about regret or guilt or shame; it implies making a decision to turn around, to face a new direction.
I believe that the Lord is dealing with our self-reliance in this season.
Different verses of scripture come to mind. The whole world has been forced to BE STILL – the next thing we must do is KNOW THAT HE IS GOD.
James 4:13-15
Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
Proverbs 19:21 – Many are the plans in a person’s heart but it’s the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
I’m reminded that there is a purpose behind this epidemic- and it’s GOD’s purpose that will prevail- not mine, not yours, not the governments, not even the devil’s but it is the LORD’S.
Many things are shaking right now but those who put their trust in the Lord, will not be shaken.
I am also reminded of the wise and the foolish man in the bible, one built his house on the rock whereas the other built his house on the sand.
Jesus said to Peter- Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
Times like this really do show us what we have been building our lives on.
On a personal note I’m reminded that Gods thoughts are not my thoughts, nor are his ways my ways.
We cannot put our trust in temporary things like the systems or things of this world.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
As we meditate on Gods promises to us, our confidence grows and we become secure in Christ’s Love this diminishes the fear because His Perfect Love is able to cast out ALL FEAR.
