Do you want Glory?

As I mentioned in my last post, God has been dealing with areas in my life where I struggle with unforgiveness and pride.

He’s been talking to me about the importance of overlooking offences.

‘A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offence.’ (Proverbs 19:1 NIV)

The demonstration of wisdom is patience, when you overlook an offence, it is to your advantage!

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary ‘Glory is a distinguished quality or asset or praise, honor, or distinction extended by common consent.’

Imagine every time you overlook an insult/offence you are receiving more glory from God.

I recently had a dream where I was insulted and responded to the person who threw the insult with a blessing and praise to God.

As I praised God, this ignited the fire in others in the dream to also praise God! It was a domino effect, afterwards in the dream I noticed I was moving a lot of physical things around (like Matilda) with my mind! God had given me so much power because of my response. Glory!

I’ve had to really be honest and open with God about my struggle to forgive others, due to stubbornness and pride.

At the root of it, I realised that I lacked trust in God to right the wrong, or restore what I felt like I had lost due to the offence (usually a sense of trust).

However, like the picture says- clean hearted people always win! Your glory is in forgiveness, not in un forgiveness and bitterness. Those things steal your joy, you actually lose that way but when you forgive an offence and walk in love.. in the eyes of God you are a WINNER!
