“There is only one way to avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing and be nothing.”
Aristotle.
I stumbled upon this quote today while I was flicking through a recipe book on my way home from work and I thought to myself ‘wow…these words are so true’ now that’s a wise man, whoever this Aristotle guy is anyway.
If you’re going to be anyone in life then you are bound to face criticism at one point or another. It doesn’t matter how great or nice a person you are, there are bound to be people who question your motives and who criticise your every move.
I know that what I’m not saying anything new, for there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiaties 1:9). I know that this has been said before but I’m just going to give you my spin on this.
My mum said to me earlier this year that ‘No matter how anointed you are, you will never be good enough for this world because look at Jesus they crucified him.’
Those are some deep words from my mother and they are very true. Not only is Jesus the son of God but he is the most amazing person that I’ve ever read about but even his best was not good enough for us human beings.
He constantly had people question his motives and call him names, if you don’t believe me read the Bible. Even when he was performing miracles people would say that he was casting them out by Beelzebul, the prince of Demons (Luke 11:15). They were basically saying that he was possessed by the devil, can you imagine? A WHOLE JESUS, how rude!
My point is that no matter what you do or say people are going to have negative things to say about you. It’s a sign that you are progressing in life. My advice would be to carry on living regardless of what people say and not to be afraid of people but to fear God and only God for he is the only one that has the power to send you to hell (Luke 12:5).
This is for myself more than anyone else,
God Bless.
