Psalm 121: 1-3
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
This psalm brings me so much comfort because, I have been disappointed. I’ve been disappointed by people. I’ve been disappointed when people haven’t kept their word, I’ve been disappointed and have felt real bitter.
Recently I’ve met a lot of new people, people who have sold me dreams, some who were simply doing their job and some who ‘meant well.’ I was discussing one of these incidents with my mentor over dinner last night and just kept saying ‘but you know what it’s made me wiser.’
My Pastor (Tobi Adeboyega) always says that Wisdom is the ability to discern the difference in people. Not everyone is meant to help me in life and that’s okay as long as I’m able to tell the difference between the people that God has sent and those he has not.
I’ve also learnt that I can help myself and I think that one of the most important people that I need to know other than God is myself. I cannot do everything by myself but I must know my strengths and use them and know my weaknesses (in order to protect myself).
Not everyone that ‘means well’ will have a lasting positive impact in my life but again that’s okay, I’m learning to overcome these small hurdles and stay focused on my goals by remembering from whence cometh my help.
Thank you for reading, I hope that you have a peaceful, relaxed evening.
God bless you
