Lust Bombs: The Lie and the Truth

I want a man to see me and to say ‘That’s mine..She is apart of me’
Not ‘I have to have her’ in order to possess, control, use, drain or abuse.
But rather to honour, cherish, respect as God designed.
I hate the word sexy. I don’t want to be sexy. I don’t want to be objectified, to be desired but not truly held. Not truly seen. Not fully known. Not valued beyond.. my physical form.
For I am merely a shell, a vessel that God chose to carry HIS Glory.
Lust destroys, its drive can never be satisfied.
Lust leaves me questioning am I enough?
Lust does not provide security.
It leaves you questioning.. wondering.. fearful of when their gaze will be taken away.
It is not consistent, faithful and steadfast.
It is fleeting and passing, like a ship at sail, you don’t know where it’s going or when it will return.
It is not deeply anchored and secure like a tree, where birds go to retreat.
That’s why it leaves you feeling insecure.
So why, why succumb to what cannot satisfy you? Why cling to the temporary, momentary, satisfaction and neglect the eternal?
Who someone is inside, their character is eternal, that is what truly matters.
Love over lust.
Lust blinds love but love kills lust.
Not the rush of endorphins, not the subtle touches but the slow steady, secure acts of guided, consistent, boundaried, mindful affection.
They should call them lust bombs, because they are destructive forces with hidden agendas.
Once they explode, everything you’ve spent your whole life trying to build is destroyed in an instance.
Virtue. Values. Even your voice.
Enialated, shattered, destroyed.
Surpressed and depressed, you’re left to rebuild the broken pieces. Not sure where to start.
The agenda of lust is to possess and to ultimately kill, steal and destroy. It doesn’t matter what the cost is, it must have you now and if you yield yourself to its pull, you will soon see it will tie you up, bind you to the lie, that it’s name is not lust.
But because it’s a lie, you will find yourself unsatisfied. Like a spider, once lust enters your mind and lays her eggs she begins to build her web, clouding your mind, blurring your vision, distracting you from the truth. You find yourself trying to untangle her web of lies, going round and round and round.. in circles/cycles…looking for a way out.
You’re shackled, chained and controlled by misplaced desire and affection.
Smothered by your need for affection and your desire for attention.
Wounded by the very one you put your hope in.
You hoped this time would be different.
But did you really think the devil would give you the desires of your heart without holding your soul for ransom?
The truth is Love was always yours from the beginning because you were made by a God who is love.
So from the beginning you had love, but when you came to this realm, you forgot and the enemy began bombarding you with the lie that you are not loved.
He did this through media, family, relationships, friendships and your peers.
He built a system filled with lies and half truths, to keep you from the truth that you have always been deeply loved - but the moment Jesus was revealed to you, it put an end to the enemies plan because then your eyes were open to see the gravity of the Fathers LOVE!! It was laid bare, no longer hidden in plain sight but publically displayed, clear as day!! The cross was Gods greatest declaration of love for YOU!
For While we were still sinners Christ died for US!
It Couldn’t be earned, just like in the beginning it was never earned.
Don’t you see that the cross was Gods way of restoring our sense of worth and dignity?
He was undignified, so we could be dignified.
He was stripped bare so we could be clothed in righteousness.
He was Beaten and bruised so we could be made whole.
By His stripes we are healed.
No one will ever love you as much as Jesus. Not a single soul.
For it is freedom that you desire. A safe space, for love to find her home and lay her nest for you to rest.
A place where your soul is cradled and held, safe and snug under her wings.
Love beckons you to let her in.
Lust forces its way in.
Love makes you feel safe and secure.
Lust makes you feel confused and insecure.
Love affirms you.
Lust terrorises you.
Love brings honour.
Lust brings shame.
There is no fear in love but Lust will leave you anxious.
Love stays.
Lust abandons.
God is love and He has promised to NEVER leave you or abandon you and I.
