Health and Fitness is something that is really important to me, I know that it may not seem that way (LOL Belly fat) but its true.
I grew up in a house where my mum had a room full of gym equipment, she would encourage myself and my younger sister to use the gym, do exercise and remember to do our ‘sit ups.’
Unfortunately my mum was diagnosed with diabetes at aged 35 and I started to see a pattern, a pattern that I do not want to follow.
When I was younger I used to really care about my body image, this was based on insecurity, I remember when saying to my friend that I thought I was fat at size 10. I would go on all kinds of crazy diets.
In my teens I was obsessed with attending the gym, as well as aerobics and Pilates classes but I never reached my goal.
When I was 20, I gained a lot of weight due to circumstances that were out of my control. That’s when I realised that I had never been fat, that was all in my head.
Fortunately, I lost weight again and I’m now 11 stone at 5ft 6.5 and clinically I’m a healthy weight, which I’m really happy with.
However, I’ve realised that being healthy is not only about how you look on the outside, it’s about how you feel inside and what you feed yourself, you are what you eat as they say, so I’ve decided to do a lifestyle cleanse.
I’ve joined the gym and will be logging my progress. I’ve bought a blender and I’ve been blending all kinds of good stuff. I’ve decided that regardless of my surroundings I’m going to say no to being unhealthy, no to diabetes and no to feeding my temple with complete rubbish. I want to cook food that tastes good and is good for me.
I know i’m going to have many pitfalls (like today for example I was supposed to go to the gym) but I’m not going to stop myself from trying anymore.
